Traveling the Highway to a Renewable Energy Future: A Look At Innovation in Transportation

RenewableEnergyStocks.com - ZAP, DynaMotive, Alchemy Enterprises, DaimlerChrysler and Honda Motor Look to the Emerging Alternative Energy Transportation Market
RenewableEnergyStocks.com June 2006
As oil consumption patterns are targeted for change, the market turns towards innovators who are getting behind the wheel to produce new energy solutions. With the growing level of support of alternative transportation technology steadily gaining momentum from a corporate, government and consumer level, innovations such as cleaner fuel sources, and energy efficient automotive technology continue to result. Working to build on the emerging clean energy opportunities in the transportation market are technology providers such as ZAP (AMEX: ZP), DynaMotive Energy Systems Corporation (OTCBB: DYMTF), Alchemy Enterprises (OTCBB: ACHM), DaimlerChrysler (NYSE: DCX), and Honda Motor Co. Ltd (NYSE: HMC). Reducing our dependence on foreign oil has placed the use of alternative transportation models into the limelight. Clean Edge Inc., a San Francisco based research and consulting firm reporting on the clean technology industry, reports, "Since roughly two-thirds of the oil used in the U.S. is for transportation, energy security advocates are focusing on hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles to save gasoline, and on biofuels -- ethanol and biodiesel -- as key means to replace it. U.S.
biodiesel production tripled in 2005 to 75 million gallons, domestic ethanol output continued its steady growth to nearly 4 billion gallons, while U.S. hybrid car sales grew 144 percent to more than 205,000."

In light of the current market environment, Steven Schneider, Chief Executive Officer and Director of ZAP (Zero Air Pollution) (NYSE: ZP) explains, "Anyone that is producing an alternative energy vehicle at this moment in time is certainly in a sweet spot. The concern over fuel prices and oil, combined with environmental issues, global warming and all types of weather conditions and climate change, including the unrest in the Middle East, has put so much focus on companies who are coming up with another solution." ZAP is the only company who currently provides full performance electric vehicles for sale online and through licensed dealers. They also sell Smart Cars and the soon to be released Obvio Ethanol gas hybrid.

Alchemy Enterprises, Ltd (OTCBB: ACHM) is developing a magnesium based Electric Power Cell that will be able to provide power for vehicles using reusable, renewable materials. The company is targeting a prototype to be functioning in the first quarter of "07 in a full sized city bus, currently under construction in conjunction with Designline of New Zealand, an international producer of hybrid buses and vehicles.

The Electric Power Cell being developed by Alchemy uses magnesium - one of the most common minerals on earth - as its catalyst material. Given the further fact that the magnesium is "rechargeable" it is the perfect answer to the twofold problem with combustion engines, and petroleum in particular: pollution and non renewable source, fuel.

Alchemy's CEO Jonathan Read explains, "We expect that the very nature of our Electric Power Cell will provide a significant alternative to the potentially flawed hydrogen fuel concepts that are being tested at this stage. Our objective is a fuel system that is clean, renewable and reusable. Instead of highly pressurized and leak prone hydrogen systems, our system provides power on demand - hydrogen on demand - and is a model for sustainable affordable long-term power systems"

"Our first prototype is being developed for the public transportation sector as it is the easiest to control and monitor given their centralized nature. We hope to then expand to fleet applications, and will be entertaining automobile joint ventures," adds Read.

Alchemy is developing their Electric Fuel Cell in a full development contract with NASA and its Jet Propulsion Labs and Cal Tech in Pasadena, CA. It has announced that this contractual relationship may result in Cal Tech taking an 8% stake in the Company.

The Hybrid and Plug-In Route
Cost is all too often seen as a primary barrier, when it comes to presenting a hybrid alternative to the eternal combustion conundrum. According to CNW Marketing Research Inc., "One of the reasons hybrids cost more than non-hybrids is the manufacture, replacement and disposal of such items as batteries, electric motors (in addition to the conventional engine), lighter weight materials and complexity of the power package."

From another angle, Nick Cappa, Manager of Advanced Technology Communications for DaimlerChrysler (NYSE: DCX) says, "At this point there is no silver bullet for reducing our dependency on foreign oil. Hybrids will play a role but how significant a role depends on the customer. The premium for a hybrid must meet expectations."

At the moment he says, "hybrids make up less than .5% of the North American market. That percentage is expected to be around 4% by 2012. DaimlerChrysler will introduce its first hybrid to market in 2008 with the 2-Mode Full Hybrid Dodge Durango. We see hybrids as a growing market. Other technologies will also have an affect on fuel consumption. "

As far as plug-ins and the Company's own plans for innovating are concerned, Cappa says, "Although DaimlerChrysler is the only auto manufacturer building and testing plug-in hybrid technology, we have made no plans for mass production of plug-in technology. By combining diesel hybrids with lithium ion battery technology we stay on the cutting edge. The data collected will go towards future hybrid vehicle and system design."

Presenting the industry with electric alternative vehicles, ZAP is the only company who markets electric vehicles online. Schneider says, "interest is coming in on a global basis. As a company we're focusing on getting the vehicles to the North American region first and as we perfect the infrastructure here in North America, we'll be rapidly expanding to other parts of the world."
"I believe that plug-in vehicles have a rapidly growing niche in the market that most of us don't quite yet understand, but will very soon. Further to this, he says, "the bench tests are showing a longevity of 9,000 cycles- that's like 9,000 refills of your gasoline car, which is 10-15 years depending on how much you actually drive. This makes it very convenient for a consumer to make a choice between gasoline powered vehicles or plug-in vehicles because the time to plug in and the time to fill up is about the same," concludes Schneider.

Biofuel's Boost
In an attempt to help promote energy independence, U.S. automakers General Motors, Ford and Daimler Chrysler, recently expressed their public support of an energy plan from the Energy Future Coalition. The plan titled "25 by 25" entails that 25 percent of the energy supplies for the U.S. would come from a combination of ethanol and other renewables by the year 2025. E85, an alternative fuel consisting of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, has become a key focus in the quest for cleaner domestic sources of fuel and through plans such as "25 by 25" and other clean energy proposals, steps can be taken to increase the availability and distribution of this fuel.

Alexander Muller, Assistant Director-General for the Sustainable Development Department of the FAO has instilled the overall impression that, "The gradual move away from oil has begun. Over the next 15 to 20 years, we may see biofuels providing a full 25 percent of the world's energy needs." With this in mind, more of a spotlight could be placed on biofuels, as it becomes more evident that this is a viable alternative for the mass market."

DynaMotive Energy Systems Corporation (OTCBB: DYMTF) has been developing advanced fuels made from cellulosic biomass for some time. Andrew Kingston President and CEO affirms that, "With the escalating cost of fossil fuels and the dependence on crude oil as the primary source of energy for automobiles, it has become increasingly important to develop sustainable fuels from local resources, thus diminishing the reliance on foreign energy."

Describing the dynamics of BioOil conversion to synthetic gas, Kingston says, "We've successfully converted BioOil to syngas, with the objective to establish that syngas can be further reformed to synthetic diesel." For future transport applications he says, "Synthetic diesel can be used as transport fuel in diesel engines without modification, including automobiles, trucks, and buses. When comparing the performance of engines operating on Syndiesel to engines operating on conventional diesel, the results are equal or better. Synthetic diesel, or Syndiesel, is a renewable greenhouse gas neutral fuel that can replace diesel produced from crude oil."

Kingston further stated, "There is also a promising approach to ethanol production from the reformation of BioOil to syngas utilizing a variance of Fisher Tropsch process, which DynaMotive is exploring." Currently, the Company's product BioOil is used as an industrial fuel and can be used in gas turbines, boilers, kilns and stationary diesel engines.

New Directions
Chris Martin, spokesman for Honda Motor Co. Ltd. (NYSE: HMC) says that the progress made in the hybrid market has been, "a slow evolution over time. It's really difficult to predict where the market is going to go." Martin says that in addition to hybrids, the Company's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology, which shuts down the cylinders not being used during vehicle drive times, is also part of their line.

A Honda Civic GX, which runs on natural gas, also plays a key part in their line of alternative energy solutions. Martin says that for this car, "the infrastructure to refuel your natural gas vehicle is already in place, because many American homes are already supplied with natural gas." The Phill home refueling station, offered by Honda's partner Fuel Maker, offers at-home natural gas refueling for owners of the new Civic. A map showing where the Californian natural gas refueling stations are located is online at:

As the nation continues to drive forward towards energy alternatives through government, business and legislative support, the transportation industry is experiencing an evolution towards greater efficiency, environmental preservation and an improved ability for domestic producers to help establish energy independence. Resulting from this push is a variety of innovative clean energy technologies that are helping to solve many of the needs felt by today's transportation channels, turning yesterday's challenges into today's market opportunities.

How to Cure Asthma

How to Cure Asthma

What is the difference between God and a Doctor? God doesn't think that he is a doctor. How do you tell the difference between a Doctor and a banana? If the banana doesn't go rotten in 14 days then it isn't a doctor. According to your doctor asthma is incurable, or as your Doctor learned after 8 years in University envying the number of women chasing the quarterback, who your Doctor in a jealous and drunken rage referred to in his secret diary as a "hairy Neanderthal", asthma is a "chronic (permanent) inflammatory condition of the lungs." The medical schools and the big drug companies and the big corporate executives have pawned off this deadly myth for so long that now even they believe it.

20 million Americans suffer from asthma. Does this mean that we should lay the blame for asthma on our creator? Did God not know how to create a functioning lung? Are we just prototypes in God's vast laboratory? Perhaps without inhalers all of the asthmatics would die off and then the human gene pool would be freed from this genetic defect and then future generations would evolve into a species with perfectly functioning bronchial tubes. In the interest of future generations perhaps you should throw out your puffer and just choke to death sacrificing your life for the common good. This may get you into heaven in case you forgot to put your $5 into the collection plate last Sunday. Did Jesus have asthma? Did Jesus ever cure an asthmatic? Did Jesus know that asthma was incurable? Did Jesus go to medical school? Did Jesus play football? Was Mary Magdalene a cheerleader for the Jerusalem University Keepahs?
The reasons that the environmental organizations are going nowhere are myriad. One of them is that the word environmental is a combination of the words enviro and mental. No one knows what the word enviro means which leaves us with the word mental. People just think that these people are mental. George Bush's father referred to them as "the spotted owl crowd". His son George proclaimed that there is no evidence that global warming exists. Jesus referred to the leaders of his day as snakes, blind guides, leading us all into the fire. The United States which likes to think of itself as the role model for a world which thinks of the U.S. as the black sheep of the family is the highest per capita polluter in the world. The reason that pollution groups are going nowhere is because people don't understand the meaning of the word pollution. The world is like a giant Jonestown filled with people believing that poison cannot kill them because some Bible writers, scribes, and who Jesus referred to as snakes spewing their deadly poisonous lies into your Bibles (Matthew 23) wrote this baloney in your Bible 2,000 years ago beside "The Earth does not move and it never will" three times. If God wrote your Bible then not only can he not create a functioning lung but he is also very poor at astronomy. Your Bible has 2,000 pages of God's Word and no cure for asthma? Perhaps if the George Bushes had paid a little less attention to their Holy Bibles and checked out the Greenpeace website a couple of times, Greenland, Antarctica and the Arctic would not now be melting into the world's 1 ocean which will shortly cause the sea level to rise 50 feet leaving nothing left of the United States except the peaks of Vail, which will be prime beachfront property.

In the Holy Bible God commands the cutting away of the foreskin, not the foresight. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure especially when there is no cure for asthma. The pollution, the particles of poison in the air which we breathe into our lungs, like deadly airborne cyanide, hemlock and snake venom gets into your lungs when you breathe the air, it inflames your lungs and you have asthma. If you want to get away with poisoning children's lungs with deadly poison chemicals so that they cannot breathe then give your poison a name that no one understands, like a "carcinogen", a cancer causing chemical coming out of the exhaust pipe of your car like a bullet which hits its target and then explodes 10 years later in your own lungs and then slowly eats you alive in an excruciating prolonged death. It was announced yesterday that in Beijing, the site of the next Olympics, where the smog is so bad that more car accidents are caused by low visibility than msg, over 100,000 Chinese people died last year from the indoor air pollution in their skyscrapers from the chemicals gassing off from their carpets, furniture, and poor ventilation. Who would want to open a window in Beijing even if the office buildings did have windows? The air in Beijing is so filled with poison gas that the 100 yard dash at the 2008 Olympics has been shortened to 10 yards. What is the big deal searching for a cure for Aids in Africa? If everyone remained a virgin and then only had sex with their spouse there would be no sexually transmitted diseases. Is this a secret being deliberately held from the African people? You cannot break the laws of nature but if you do it will break your back.

Mold is a fungus, a tiny airborne animal that can only be seen when magnified through the lens of a microscope. Some molds exist in nature and we breathe it in all the time in small amounts and our bodies can handle it. However in larger amounts, or in people with immune systems weakened by all of the poison we breathe in every day, these molds which we breathe in, that multiply in our lungs and digestive tracts, these molds cause allergic reactions, aka tightening of the airways, aka chronic asthma, chronic bronchitis and chronic emphysema leading to death. The end of chapter 14 of the Book of Leviticus recommends that in some cases when these molds get into the wooden walls and stones of your house, you must tear down your house and rebuild it.

Doctors, i.e. allopathic doctors will treat the symptoms of your asthma and not the causes. Allergists will diagnose you with mold allergies and inject you with mold for 5 years of useless and painful treatment. Respiratory specialists will give you cortisone inhalers which cause thrush, candida, yeast, mold, fungus in your throat which your bloodstream then carries to every organ in your body including your lungs thereby aggravating the problem and making the doctors and the drug companies rich. Jesus commanded that everyone sell all of their possessions and then give all of their money to the poor. Are there any Christian doctors? Are there any Christians?

Here is the good news. Go to your naturopathic doctor, your doctor of naturopathy. Take the best from what both traditional and naturopathic doctors have to offer. Actually naturopathic doctors should be called traditional doctors since they are the doctors who are using herbal remedies which have been used and are tried and true since before biblical times, which are recommended in the Bible. In the numerous cases of asthma which are caused by breathing in airborne mold, there is a herbal remedy which can cure it. Oil of oregano has been clinically proven to kill bacterial infections which penicillin cannot kill, viruses which "nothing" can kill, molds, yeast and fungus. Many drugs are synthetic preparations of herbal remedies, plant medicine put on earth by God to save your life. Oil of oregano with sage and cumin taken in capsules will kill off the mold, and remove the root cause of the asthma, tiny animals eating their way through your lungs like they eat through wood and stone no matter how much you clean the surface. Your bloodstream will take the Oregacyn capsules (oil of oregano, sage and cumin - search "oregacyn") which you can buy over the internet or in your health food store to every part of your body including your lungs and kill the mold and cure the asthma. It is also good to take non dairy acidophilus, the healthy bacteria in our bodies which beats back the mold, and NutriBiotic grapefruit seed extract tablets which also kill the fungus. Years ago Doctors accused the naturopaths of practicing voodoo medicine and the Government threatened to ban herbal remedies as being unsafe. (Some are unsafe. Check with your naturopath and your doctor and your health food stores to see which ones.) Today many drug stores look more like health food stores than drugstores. In the fight for power, control and money in medicine and in religion, it is always the patient who ends up the big loser. If the 200 countries on Earth decided to make World Peace they could do it overnight at the United Nations. Unfortunately your Holy Bibles and your religious leaders forbid it. Also, the weapons manufacturers own and are pulling the strings of the politicians, and they will never allow World Peace, until nuclear world war III causes the extinction of all life on earth forever in the near future, which will also put an end to asthma once and for all. Think of it as radiology theology coming to your rescue.

The End Times Are Now

The End Times Are Now

Jewish control of Jerusalem is one of the most important signs of the End Times, because of Jesus' statement in Luke 21:24. The disciples had asked Him, "When are you going to return and what will be the sign ?" Jesus replied, "Jerusalem shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." What was the Savior saying? Simply that the Jews would be scattered throughout the world and the city of Jerusalem controlled by Gentile powers until the time of His return. All the various Gentile groups--the Romans, the Persians, the Crusaders, the Egyptians, and others controlled Jerusalem from A.D. 70 until May 1967. Then, in June 1967 the Jews took control of Jerusalem for the first time in more than nineteen hundred years.
The disciples also asked jesus, not only what the signs would be that signal the countdown to his return, but also what the signs of the actual end times would be. There are many signs we are told that we will see in the last days just before jesus returns, they include:
------------------------------------
Earthquakes - Famines - Pestilences - Signs in space (sun, moons, stars, planets)
Luke 21:11 (King James Version) - "And great earthquakes shall be in divers (various, several) places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven."
Famines: Since 1975 to present, there has never been a year, that there wasn't a famine some place on the earth.
------------------------------------
Earthquakes: Earthquakes are happening more frequently and are getting stronger. From 1920 - 1990 a period of 70 years, there was 10 Major Quakes. From 1990 - 2005 a period of 15 years, there was 15 Major Quakes. And this is only the major quakes, in the year 2000 there were 22,256 total earthquakes detected. In 2004 there was 31,199. of course most were not even hardly noticed or occurred in unpopulated areas, but there numbers are growing rapidly every year, as well as the major quakes.
The United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Disaster Reduction Just reported that between 1950 to 1959 there was 20 Major calamities costing $38 Million (1989 Dollar Value), in 1990 to 1999 there was 82 Major calamities costing $535 Billion.
------------------------------------
Pestilences: Since the 1980's to present the number of new diseases that have formed is incredible. We now have SARS - AIDS - Herpes - West Nile - New Drug resistant TB - Mad Cow - New monkey pox virus with human-to-human transmission - and now the H5N1 (avian bird flu). Data shows that both the incidence and severity of outbreaks of multi-drug-resistant pathogens have experienced a sharp upturn within the past 10 years. For example, Salmonella infections have gone up 25-fold in some countries in Europe since 1998. Similar increases are reported for haemorrhagic E. coli 0157 food poisoning: between 2002 and 2005, the frequency of infection increased 10 - fold in England and Wales, and 100 - fold in Scotland.
------------------------------------
Signs in the sun and space: The sun has been going wild, every 11 years or so we were told that the sun goes through cycles where it produces numerous solar flares or storms. This past cycle has been the strongest and strangest ever recorded since scientists and others have been studying solar activity, because even though the time for this solar phase should have passed. the sun is still producing massive flares and outbursts, and it's getting worse. In fact the sun is getting brighter and hotter each recent year. This increase in warmth from the sun is warming the entire planet, and global warming is not longer just speculative, it's a fact. The 14 hottest years ever recorded occurred after 1980.
The U.S. Geological Survey says Antarica is warmer now then it has been anytime in the past 4000 years. Half the glacier ice in the European Alps has disapeared in this century.
The following news reports were just released: 'Warmest September Globally Since Beginning Of Reliable Instruments: The United States experienced its fourth warmest September on record, while global land surface temperatures were the warmest on record for the month, according to scientists at the NOAA National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C.' and it's not just the U.S. but reports are coming in from around the globe, here's one from Australia: 'Australia headed for hottest year on record - SYDNEY (AFP) Nov 14, 2005 - Australia is having its hottest year on record and experts blame global warming for the trend, the government weather bureau reported Monday.
------------------------------------
Signs in society - peoples thinking and actions:
2 Timothy 3:1-4 (King James Version) - "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God."
These things are occurring every day and it seems everyplace, listen to peoples conversations, read the newspapers, watch tv shows, etc.... morals and putting others before ones-self are thinking that is almost gone. Sinful thoughts, and sexual perversion is becoming a common way of life.
------------------------------------
Preachers will not preach the biblical truth, and many will seek false and evil religions:
1 Timothy 4:1 - "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons."
Churches and sermons have become watered-down to please church members. Many Pastors don't preach sermons anymore on the horrors of hell and the effects of sin. They have begun preaching about an all loving god, that loves everyone. This is true he does, but he is also a holy god, that cannot tolerate sin. And if someone lives a life of sin, they will be cast into hell. If you accept Jesus Christ as lord and saviour, the bible says you must also repent, a dictionary explanation for 'repent' says: 'To feel such regret for past conduct as to change one's mind regarding it', so you cannot just ask for salvation, then live your old life, the bible clearly tells us that, read this carefuly, it's right from the bible: 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."
Some Pastors are now even saying that Jesus Christ is not the only way to Heaven. We have removed the biblical truth and facts and have replaced it with what people want to hear, so they can continue their ways of living a life of sin.
------------------------------------
Wars and rumors of wars:
The 20th century has been known as the century of warfare. We have had the big ones of course like World War 1, and World War 2, and the cold war (the ultimate era of 'rumors of war'), we also had the vietnam war, korean war, and literally hundreds of other battles, including the gulf wars and other middle east conflicts to the present day rumors of possible war with Iran and North Korea over their nuclear programs.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
Ethnic unrest and tribal warfare has killed millions in this generation alone, and it's getting worse.

Massive Hurricanes and freak storms:
Does the bible mention Hurricanes when it tells of signs of the Lords return ? It sure does, Jesus tells the disciples in Luke 21:25: "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring." See them last 6 words: 'the sea and the waves roaring', the exact effects of hurricanes. 2004 was said to have been the costliest hurricane season on record, that was true until the 2005 hurricance season. At the end of Oct 2005, Beta, the 26th named storm of a record Atlantic hurricane season, made landfall near La Barra, Nicaragua. And now on Fri, Dec 30 2005 we have this NEWS - Tropical Storm Zeta drifts across the Atlantic. The 27th named storm of a record-breaking hurricane season, Zeta had top sustained winds near 50 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami. Forecasters said Zeta was not expected to become a hurricane or threaten land. This Atlantic hurricane season has seen more named tropical storms and hurricanes than at any point since record-keeping began in 1851.
Here in Northeast Pennsylvania, from November 6-12, we were struck with multiple severe thunderstorms and a tornado watch. This wouldn't be anything abnormal if it was summer, but this is November and we had not only multiple severe thunderstorms but a tornado watch and then a warning. According to local tv weathermen, we have never had as many severe thunderstorms and a tornado warning in this area so late in the year since record keeping began.

I could go on and on, but this article would be to large for what I wanted. The facts are plain and simple folks, according to what jesus and the bible says, the signs of the end times are happening right now. There are some folks that say 'oh it says in the bible that the city of Damacus in Syria will be destroyed' and this hasn't happened yet, or something else hasn't happened yet. yes, that is very true but the signs that have happened or are occurring are the ones that the bible says will signal the return of Jesus, the other signs may occur during the great tribulation after his return.
So what does it all mean, 'The time of Jesus Christ's return is here !', I believe the countdown began in 1967 when the Jews took control of Jerusalem. .
Jesus told his disciples that the Generation that sees these things, 'The creation of israel as a nation, and most importantly 'Jerusalem under jewish control (1967) "This generation will not pass away (die)", before he (Jesus) Returns.
So how long is a generation in the bible ? bible scholars used to say a generation is 40 years. So if the countdown to the 'end times' began in 1967 when the Jews re-took control of Jersualem, Christ may return (rapture of believers) before Dec 31, 2007. Now some other bible experts like 'Jack Van Impe' are saying that a biblical generation is 52 years. This is pretty amazing, because it falls in line with some other amazing date predictions. If the end time countdown began in 1967 when the Jews re-took control of Jersuale, and if you add 52 years to that date, that gives you the year 2019. Now if we subtract 7 years from 2019 (7 years being the time of the tribulation period), that gives us the date 2012. Strangely, both the Mayan and Aztec calendars end on the year 2012, predicting some major event that changes the whole earth in that year. Is this event the rapture, the return of Christ ? When it comes to exact dates nobody on the earth really knows when Jesus will return. Jesus himself says no man knows the day or the hour when he will return. In Mark 13:32 (KJV) -- "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." But Jesus doesn't say we cannot know or figure out the year that he may come.
I say, don't wait for the year 2012, I believe the time may be much shorter, the best thing to do is to be ready, give your heart and life to Jesus today, except his free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ before it's too late. You never know if you will have a tomorrow, a car wreck, heart attack, stroke, murder, or the return of the lord may happen this very hour, and then it's too late. All you have to do is believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and ask him to forgive you of your sins, say the 'sinners prayer below' then repent, change your lifestyle and thinking by not living in sin, and if possible start going to a bible believing Church whenever you can, and be baptised if possible. The gift of eternal life is a free gift from the lord Jesus, all you have to do is want it, and ask for it. Here is a simple sinners prayer, it's all you need to say, just believe it: "God I know and confess that I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness, I believe that your son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I now accept and receive Jesus's pardon for my sins, I want Jesus into my heart and life as my personal saviour, forgive me lord and save me, Amen'. If you have just prayed that simple prayer and believed, you are now granted the gift of eternal life, Praise the Lord.
As I finish this article, the year 2005 has now ended, and 2006 has just begun, I sit here wondering what terrible things will happen in the world, and in our own country this year, but as the Bible says. "Don't let you heart be troubled, all these things (end time signs) must occur, but look up for your redemption draws near."

Cities, States and Others Step up Action on Climate, Despite Federal Reluctance

Cities, States and Others Step up Action on Climate, Despite Federal Reluctance

Last year, Pentagon defense adviser Andrew Marshall issued a harsh warning of the consequences of climate change: mass chaos, national security crises and food shortages. If climate change occurs abruptly, the report declared, there could be a catastrophic breakdown in international security. Wars over access to food, water, and energy would likely break out between states. Even if climate change is more gradual, recent studies have argued that as many as one million plant and animal species could be rendered extinct by 2050 due to the effects of global warming. Climate change is the most serious challenge facing the international community. In order to plan for a sustainable future - one that meets needs today without compromising meeting the needs of future generations - global warming must be addressed. We have arrived at a stage in human evolution that requires international cooperation - a stage which demands that world leaders put world priorities ahead of national political agendas in order to halt the peril threatening humanity. In 1987, the World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED) asked all nations to renew their commitment to implement policies based on the three pillars of sustainable development - economic, environmental and social - in order to arrest environmental deterioration and revive world economic growth. In particular, the report stated, poverty has played a major role in environmental degradation. Not only is it our moral obligation to eliminate poverty, the report revealed it is essential to protecting and improving the environment. Further reports have concluded that environmentally unsound technology has been exponentially far more detrimental to sustainable development than even population growth. In order to achieve sustainable development, the Commission reported, our cities must be considered in the global concerted effort. Since three-fourths of the global warming pollution could be solved if we decreased burning fossil fuels, one of the most effective ways to transform urban growth is by switching to alternative energy sources. Fortunately, there are many means of harnessing energy which have less damaging impacts on our environment than fossil fuels, and we already have developed all the technological resources needed. Now we must admit there is a problem and start working in the direction to make this transition. If our current leaders do not want to face this pressing challenge with integrity, then as Leonardo Dicaprio urges, we need to vote for leaders who care about the environment and our health and the future generations who will bear the burden long after the Administration is gone.

A Call to Action
On October 25, 2005, Senator Hillary Clinton (NY) called for a national energy strategy enlisting the oil industry in a process that would help consumers while making the transition to alternative energy technologies. Her plan redirects the hidden "tax" that Americans are already paying to OPEC and the oil companies, but lasts only long enough to" kick-start the alternative energy market that we all know is out there," she explained. Speaking to Cleantech Venture Network, a group of venture capitalists who recently were named by Wall Street Journal reports for their success in developing clean energy as a viable investment category, Clinton emphasized the immediate concern which is how to help citizens pay their bills and keep the economy moving in the face of dramatically higher energy costs. There is no question, she said, that our failure to make better energy choices is sapping our pocketbooks, limiting our competitiveness, threatening our environment and even our national security. "Hurricanes Katrina and Rita made that brutally clear." The far reaching problem we face, Senator Clinton stated, is coping with the impacts of massive economic development and competition for oil in other parts of the world such as India and China in the next twenty years. "Loosening environmental standards or opening up a new oil field or two is not going to offset this seismic shift in energy demand," she explained. Her plan unburdens the American people of foreign oil dependence, investing a portion of the profits into the U.S. energy future, instead of regimes we would never choose to subsidize. The oil industries can choose to either reinvest their profits into America's energy future or contribute to a new Strategic Energy Fund, she said. The Strategic Energy Fund would help consumers cope with spiraling energy costs, promote adoption of existing clean energy and conservation technologies, while stimulating research and investment by the private sector. She also recommends assessing an alternative energy development fee for those companies deciding not to directly reinvest in our energy future. That fee, she explained would help fund energy transition. "The Fund could generate as much as $20 billion a year to help with home heating oil costs and develop new energy strategies." In this way, she explained, we would reduce our reliance on fossil fuel, make existing alternative technologies more affordable, jump start our technology, and regain U.S. world leadership. It's got "Made in America" written on it, in addition to providing a role model for developing nations. The "energy revolution" can be as big and important as the industrial revolution and the explosion of the information age. However, we have to do what America has always done when faced with a big challenge, she said, "roll up our sleeves and dedicate this country to finding a solution." In effect, she explained, "the country that put a man on the moon can be the country to find new lower cost and cleaner forms of energy. Our nation needs it. Our planet needs it."

Addressing Climate Change in the Environment of a Hostile U.S. Administration One of the most important outcomes of the 2002 World Sustainable Summit Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg, South Africa, was the decision to address climate change at the global level, starting at the local level-- all mandates that must be enacted locally as well as globally in order to begin to impact the effects of climate change. A decade earlier, the Rio de Janeiro Summit articulated the need to include humanity as well as environmental protection in the sustainability equation. Hence, it concluded, the critical problem of poverty must also be addressed. When the United Nations authorized the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002, it had already realized poverty had deepened and environmental degradation had worsened since the 1992 Summit. The world needed a new summit of actions with results, and not just intent. Managing urban environmental conditions ultimately belongs with national governments, businesses, scientific bodies, and communities working together; but history shows us U.S. involvement has always sped and strengthened global progress in improving urban environmental conditions for sustainable development. Although U.S. partnership is needed to meet the increasingly urgent demands to make cities livable, the Bush Administration has not been forthcoming. While the 2002 WSSD Johannesburg Summit was the highest attended conference by world leaders, President Bush was sorely missed. According to original plans, explained participant Kaarin Taipale, "the 2002 WSSD summit would have coincided with the first anniversary of 9/11." Conference dates were changed at that the last minute in order to make it easier for the President to attend. Instead, Secretary of State Colin Powell traveled to Johannesburg to speak on the President's behalf, where as Taipale recalls, "he was infamously booed." Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky soon retorted by telling Summit attendees to focus on actions, "actions being better than words." U.S. action has been remiss. Vice Chairman of Friends of the Earth Tony Juniper said the United States has a lot to answer for what has gone wrong since the Rio de Janeiro Summit in 1992. Many trends that were categorized as urgent at that summit - such as poverty, biodiversity loss, deforestation, and overexploitation of renewable resources - had either stayed the same or become worse.

First, the U.S. refused to ratify the Kyoto Protocol at the 2002 Summit - the single most important environmental treaty to stop Climate Change. In addition, Juniper reported, the Bush Administration had been telling the world about the importance of free trade while protecting its own steel industry and hiking agricultural subsidies to the degree of harming other nations. In fact, heavy pressure on the U.S. Administration for Bush not to attend the Summit, said Juniper, seemed to originate with the big business and corporate lobby. U. S. representatives to the Summit proposed business friendly partnerships, but opposed the very necessary targetive actions on sustainable development. Although the United States makes up four percent of the world's population and produces 22 percent of the world's greenhouse gases, it's refusal to ratify the Kyoto Protocol's call for reductions in the greenhouse gases merely underscores Federal unwillingness to address climate change. Claiming that the treaty would raise energy prices and kill five million U.S. jobs, the Administration has even raised questions about the scientific legitimacy of climate change. As British Petroleum CEO John Browne put it, "The time to consider the policy dimensions of climate change is not when the link is conclusively proven, but when the possibility cannot be discounted." The Union of Concerned Scientists, a group of 6,000 scientists, including 48 Nobel laureates, warns that the Bush administration's overtly anti-science bias undercuts scientific integrity. This bias was clear when the The New York Times reported that a White House official who once led the oil industry's fight against limits on greenhouse gases had repeatedly edited government climate reports in ways that play down links between such emission and global warming. The White House response: the reports were "scientifically sound." As Journalist and author Chris Mooney explained, the Administration relied on those energy interests who have a documented history of muddying the role that humanity plays in climate change while consciously strategizing to "sow confusion on the issue and sway journalists." According to a study published by Princeton professors Robert Socolow and Stephen Pacala, the U.S. could reduce emissions to below the 1970 levels just with its current technology. "We in fact already have everything we need to face this challenge," Vice President Gore has said, "save perhaps political will. But in our democracy political will is a renewable resource." Because the Federal government has failed to get involved internationally, state and local officials have been left alone to address the gravity of excess greenhouse gas emissions. Without Federal direction, Senator Clinton has warned, the varying standards that result from the differences in local policies could create havoc for the private sector. To make matters worse, approximately 100 high-level Administration officials who help regulate industries they once represented - as lobbyists, lawyers, or company advocates - are all part of an effort to avoid addressing global warming. (2004, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)). London's "Guardian" has further reported that the environmental group Greenpeace obtained documents indicating President Bush's global climate policy was heavily influenced by Exxon, Mobil and other oil companies. In briefing papers given to U.S. Under Secretary of State Paula Dobriansky between 2001 and 2004, "the administration is found thanking Exxon executives for the company's 'active involvement' in helping to determine climate change policy, and also seeking its advice on what climate change policies the company might find acceptable." Quietly, in the background of policy change, by mid August 2004 the Administration had already rolled back more than 400 major environmental mandates, causing the protection of our nation's air, water, public land and wildlife to be severely weakened. This anti-environment spirit, reports Robert Kennedy, Jr., pervades virtually all of the Sub-secretariats today, including the Department of Agriculture, Interior, and Energy. In contrast to entering public service for the public interest, these officials are motivated by the intent to specifically subvert the very law they are now charged with enforcing. "The current Administration," he says, "has put the most insidious polluters in charge of all the agencies that are supposed to protect the American people from pollution." One notable exception was Christine Whitman, appointed by Bush to head the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In 2002, she released a report stating that Climate Change was an urgent problem created by human activity that would quickly create other problems unless immediately addressed. A public relations crisis ensued when Myron Ebell of the Competitive Enterprise Institute declared "someone should be fired" over this. Apparently, White House Chief of Staff on Environmental Quality and former lobbyist for the American Petroleum Institute Philip Cooney did not see (edit) the report before it was released. President Bush publicly discounted the report by calling it a report from "the bureaucracy." Whitman resigned from the EPA soon after. At the Clinton Global Initiative, a summit of actions and results held by President Clinton in New York last September, Al Gore reported that some of those who benefit from unrestrained pollution from global warming also spend millions of dollars each year creating pseudo-studies that cloud the issue. This is not the first time this type of swaying from industry lobbyists has occurred. After the Surgeon General warning of the dangers of smoking, Gore noted, the tobacco industry hired 'scientific prostitutes' to argue that smoking was good for people. While such actions can be understood, he said, they are not acceptable, "not when the fate of the earth - rather, the fate of a habitable earth for human beings -- is at stake." He quoted muckraker Upton Sinclair who wrote more than a century ago: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon him not understanding it."

Save Energy, Save Money, Save the Earth

Save Energy, Save Money, Save the Earth

It was only a few decades ago that people have started to really understand how important it is for us all and for the future of the planet to save energy and control our overall energy consumption.

All the sudden awareness on this topic is many times a direct result of the intensive campaigns that environment organizations have put together. Apart from organizing workshops and conferences, these organizations published a large series of brochures and manuals that have turned out to be really helpful for the household users.

As a general rule, people have understood the importance of understanding and putting into practice the information they find in these manuals and many times they use them to guide themselves when it comes to purchasing a new appliance or to upgrade their heating system.
What the environmental institutions are trying to constantly underline is the fact that every small decision, such as a simple replacement of the light bulb, does in one way or another affect the environment. It is very important for people to understand that apart from the urban smog, acid rain, global warming etc, even the small decisions each and every one of us take every day, do influence, even if only in a small percentage, the evolution of the environment.

As a consequence, people need to mind small details such as turning off the light when they leave the room, turning down the heating system when they are not at home, purchasing only energy-efficient home appliances etc., because all these decision ad up and end up in producing great results for everybody, both because the bill amount for the everyday utilities is constantly going down and for environmental issues, as well.

As a final idea, keep in mind that reliable books and manuals on this subject, as well as brochures and other documentation materials are available in various places, including libraries and book stores.

The Simple Truth

The Simple Truth

What fills your car? Petrol. What fills your fax machine? Paper. Who fills the third planet from the sun? We do, meaning us!Your probably wondering what im going on about aren't you? I've got a question I want to ask you. What would you do to protect something that looks after you? If you were lying in a hospital bed, and a machine was keeping you alive, you'd want to look after it, wouldn't you? Cause it keeps you alive. What would you say about this planet? It is keeping you alive, so why aren't you trying to protect it?There are simple ways to do it. Fair enough, using public transport, or recycling paper. But is your business doing it enough. Does every bit of paper that is used and thrown away recycled? There are lots of Charities, trying to make a difference to our world. They want to see oceans cleaner, plants greener, and animals happier.

Scientists come up with mathematical equations stating, we need to stop pollution otherwise our atmosphere will be destroyed.Think about it, take a large water bomb, filled with water, stick needles into it, draw out the water, its mass will diminish. Then when it's all gone it will be useless. This will be the same as earth. What's worse, having more pollution blasted out from machines, our atmosphere will become weaker. Our o-zone layer shields us from the hot radiation that waits to vaporise earth. Once the o-zone layer is broken, it's almost impossible to re-pair, once those rays penetrate our world, things will get worse. Water will vaporise, leaving us with no water, plants will die and animals, then us!What is going through your mind right now? Do you feel enough urgency to start having a new look on life or are you just going to sit back and forget. It took one women/man to sail around the world, so millions of people taking notice of there environment can stop horrible changes from happening.Start using energy saving light bulbs. Switch energy suppliers. There are companies that use natural power, such as wind to power houses across the UK, such as Ecotricity. Be sensible on how you use your car, conserve water.Everyone has read articles on protecting the environment, one thing which we have to think about is our natural resources. One day we'll zap all our oil from the planet and oil is formulated into petrol. One day you may have an accident in your home, you call the ambulance, you're injured that you need someone to come get you. Wait, what would happen then?, because the ambulance would need petrol, therefore can't come get you, you may die! You might say we could use solar power, then what happened if you had it in the night, you might say use a battery that gets charged and saves power. But as your thinking of this, aren't you wondering why you're thinking this way? Well it's because you know that it would come to the point where we would have to use solar power to power our vehicles. If we keep on drilling and sucking out the minerals from the earth, we'll have nothing left to survive on, if we pollute the air, the o-zone will crack and disappear and we will slowly die. It takes simple steps in our everyday life that can start making an impact on helping this planet to stay alive. We need blood in our bodies to stay alive, if we loose a lot of blood we die. It's the same with our planet, I keep saying our planet, cause it's not my planet or your planet, its everyone's planet, and everyone's responsibility. So if the planet looses all of its minerals and oils it will die.Enquiring at local charities like friends of the earth or Greenpeace, ask them what you can do, ask for leaflets on how you can change your electricity bill. Enquire about energy tips and how to make a difference in your own home, all of which is free. Spend some time, showing your children what they can do, get them into routine the same as you. This problem of global warming wont get into peoples minds until it happens to them. But its happening already. Ice-caps will be melting causing flooding, destroying homes and livelihood. Killing people along the way. One day it could be on your doorstep and by not doing anything it could happen to you. Imagine the radiation from the sun, if the ozone layer disappeared. Increases in skin cancer. You could get it, and then you'd be thinking that I should have done something to help. There is going to be a point where were not going back at all, it will get to the stage that the o-zone layer will break and disappear and we wont be able to fix it. It's a horrible thought but we need to get of our backsides and do something. "A tree a day - creates more our way".Listen to the words of the wise. If you were planning on a holiday in 3 months. And you wanted a really great holiday, you'd start saving now! So the more you save now, the more of a great holiday you'll have. But if you left it to the last minute to save money you'd have a very bad holiday, not being able to do anything at all.

The same with this planet. Starting now, we'll have more of a chance at saving the planet, than just forgetting about it.Some have the ideal that they live each day as is comes, fair enough, but the planet doesn't. Its trying to look after itself. Its alive, it grows trees, provides water and minerals for all of us to live. We know the words "Don't bite the hand that feeds us" so why are we taking big chunks out of the hand? A planet that so eagerly gave us life, is being killed by its creations. So if volcanoes erupt and destroy towns, or water fills homes, or carbon dioxide bleaches the air, we cant blame the planet, because we've done it and made it happen.Show some respect and don't drop litter. Bins are made, so you can put rubbish in them, right? How would you like someone to come just drop all there rubbish in your bedroom? It would be smelly and messy. Believe when I say, you can make a difference. Yeah yeah you say. To climb a wall, you have to start from the bottom. Our technologies are ever growing, but we've got to be careful, one day all what I have said, will happen, then what will you as a single person do? You on your own cannot fix the world in one day, it's a combined effort. I know I'm trying, so must you!!
